Video Blog test

Here we go. Let’s see if this works. If so, the video blog test is complete and I can start doing some tutorials on various topics that will be MUCH faster to shoot then they would be to type. I’m pretty pumped about this!  The chain is a Flip Video camera, copy the file to the MacbookPro, run it through a quicktime conversion and a flash video conversion, then throw it up on the site.  The entire processing time is less than 5 minutes.  Awesome!

I’m using Flash video format as it seems to be the most widely accepted (more so than Quicktime). I am trying to avoid having to use vimeo or youtube just for speed of the process. Unfortunately, most RSS readers don’t support flash video embedded in the post (or quicktime, WMV, etc). Do you think having to visit the site to see the video makes it a deal breaker? Thanks for the feedback!

Digging it, Tim. Looks like you have a couple of PR-40s on the Toms. We’ve been using one on the kick for a few months and love it. Looking forward to seeing you expand this!

Looks good here, Tim. It’s not a deal breaker for me to come to your blog to see the videos. A small price to pay for the info you provide. Always helpful stuff that I appreciate.
