Yeah, 1 on the Senn 906. I was really hesitant b/c I've never liked the 609's but demo'd it (in 409 mode) and fell in love. At it's price point, its tough to beat in sound quality and flexibility.

An AKG 414 with the 10dB pad engaged sounds great! Been using it for about 2 years.

We alternate between a Beta 57 and an e906 depending on which guitarist is playing. I've also used a regular old 57 more than once. A few years ago, when I had one at my disposal, I used a Rode NT-3 with great results.

I like the Senn 906 as well. The Royer ribbon mic works great too. Can't remember the model number.

I tweeted this to you as well.
but this is more detailed:

I just got off a tour using a KSM-32 and i5 combo on my half stacks (I work for Kutless. so more of a rock sound). and depending on the music I'll go with a 609 on it's own (I cue it in my cue pack and move mic till I find right placement). I don't mind the i5 on it's own either. but I always try to pair it with either a 57, 609 or KSM-32 (I own the 32's personally. but only take them on tour. I don't want to fly with them)

Some additional Twitter input...

1. Palmer DI matched up with mics (going to have to check into this! A Palmer is pretty inexpensive and this isn't the first I've heard of this)
2. 57s (lr) and 421 (c)
3. Shure SM7

I just demo'd a vintage 409 this weekend and loved it A LOT more than a 609. No comparison in fact. The 609 sounds so harsh and thin compared to a 409...its hard to believe the 609 is supposed to be its replacement. Interested to compare the 409 & 906 next week.

AE2500's work well. the dual element design gives you some cool tone balancing options in a single mic.
i also love sennheiser e906 and of course a RE20 is always interesting

right now we're using Sennheiser 409's inside our iso-cabs for our student ministries Electric Guitarists. My weapon of choice personally is still an SM 57.
